Cambridge Center Roof Garden

While not technically a restaurant, we had dinner there last night.

Cambridge Center Roof Garden is a hidden little gem of a park found here:

My girlfriend and I invited a group of our friends there to eat dinner. We had a sort of basic picnic meal; salad, sandwiches, soda, chips and fruit. But we (she) put her own twist on it.

Salad - One of my favorites, a caprese salad . . . just tomato, mozzarella cheese, basil and vinaigrette, mostly from the Davis Square farmer's market.

Sandwiches - It was a make your own sandwich thing: Roasted vegetables, caprese, or BBQ tofu. The BBQ tofu was extra firm tofu pan seared in a little oil until dried, then marinated overnight in barbecue sauce with a little maple syrup and orange juice, and served Texas-style, with pickles. It was very good. All on When Pigs Fly French Bread.

Soda - We had Reed's ginger beer. A little sweet, but I do love ginger. Also, a guest brought lemonade, because it's not a picnic without lemonade

Chip - Kettle chips. mmmmmmmmmmMMMM

Fruit - My girlfriend sliced up a fresh pineapple, and another guest brought cherries. Both very delicious, and the garden local allowed for pit-spitting, one of the great pleasures of summer.

Here's a picture of us all having fun!
